From Factory to the Field: Installing a PEVO Soccer Goal
This past week, we had the opportunity to travel to Waynesville, North Carolina, to help a local soccer club (Carolina Mountains Soccer Club) install a new set of PEVO soccer goals.
The process started before we arrived at the field. After a conversation about the club’s needs, we helped them select the right goals for their program and worked with their club to make sure the purchase fit within their budget. Once the equipment arrived, the next step was transforming a collection of frames, wheels, nets, and hardware into a finished set of goals ready for play.
5-Step Process: Installing a PEVO Soccer Goal
This five-step process is not intended to be a detailed, IKEA-style assembly manual. Instead, it is a practical guide designed to help you approach the installation efficiently and better understand what goes into setting up a pair of soccer goals.
1. Unload The Truck & Lay Out All Parts: 10 Minutes
For the pair of soccer goals in this scenario there were (9) separate boxes to unload off the truck. This order of two soccer goals shipped as (2) Crossbars (2) Ground-bars (4) pre-assembled sides and (1) Kit box containing the nets, clips, anchors, and the assembly instructions. Once unloaded off the truck, organize the pieces, hardware, and net so everything is easy to identify before assembly.
2. Unbox All Parts: 5-10 Minutes
Using a box cutter, carefully cut the tape and store boxes out of the way. (If windy outside, anchor the empty boxes with a weight)
3. Connect The Ground Bar & Raise The Attached Uprights: 5-10 Minutes
Using the channel spacers included in the hardware kit, insert one spacer into the channel of the crossbar or ground bar. Then slide the bar into the corner casting on the side frame and secure it using the attached bolts and washers.
Before tightening everything down, make sure the frame is square. If the frame is out of alignment, the bar may feel jammed or difficult to move into position.
4. Flip The Goal On It's Face & Connect The Crossbar: 5-10 Minutes
Flip and repeat! (it's that simple!)
5. Attach the Net & Perform A Safety Check: 10-15 Minutes
Position the net so the tags sit in the top corners of the goal. Clip or fasten the net evenly around the entire frame using 1 clip for every 4-5 netting square, working from corner to corner to maintain consistent tension.
Once the net is attached, inspect the full goal to confirm that everything is secure, bolts are tightened, netting is taunt, properly anchored, and ready for play!
